Is This a Joke?

This is what I woke up to this morning. Sadly it is no joke and it is still snowing at 5 pm.
I had dreams of sitting on that lounge basking in some vitamin D today, but mother nature
has other plans.

Only yesterday I was so excited to see that my crocus was going to bloom. The tough little guy is trying so hard but unfortunately it had to be April fools day.

Oh what a sad sight!

I hope mother nature treats me better tomorrow.

Spring... The Performance Begins

Although it may not look like much now I am sure it will get a standing ovation when it has completed it's song!
Today I actually went out and did some gardening. It felt so good. I pruned back the wisteria and the clematis. My feet got a little wet when the snow got in by shoes as I was venturing to the compost pile but it was worth it!

The crocus are starting to bloom.

The daffodils are peaking out.

Hopefully I will be out again soon... sigh.

Spring Surprises

As I walk around my garden I discover bulbs that I don't remember planting - colours that I did not buy. I think it is a combination of squirrels and my failing memory. One of these years I should organize them all and do a little planning for the next spring.... but I keep forgetting. Never the less they are such a joy to see and I love surprises.

These tulips are showing there beauty.

This tulip is on the north side of the house and stretching for the sun.

This daffodil tucked behind a cedar, seems to be saying "Here I am."

This lone hyacinth was rescued from the vegetable garden and given a place of prominence at the back door.
